Canadian Airlines are cancelling and delaying flights due to manpower issues.
Delays impacting commercial travel due to staff shortages. Approximately 45% of Canadian carrier flights are being cancelled or delayed by more than 2 hours.
Manpower issues are a result of previous layoffs and airlines restaffing at a rate disproportionate to the demand. As well as increased sick time due to current isolation requirements for positive covid cases.
We expect that over the next 90 days demand will increase significantly for commercial travel. This may result in continued flight disruptions while airlines return to original levels.
